Peter Walsh The 1861 census of Gore of Toronto shows Thomas Walsh Laborer Born Ireland Age 61, wife Margaret 57, Children Peter 26, Andrew 18, Edward, 25 and Patrick 14 all RC. Peter may have had a sister Mary Walsh who married someone by the name of Kitson. Approx. date of birth was August 5, 1832, DOD was November 7, 1907 Witnesses at the marriage were William Jackson and Ellen Higgins both of the Gore. There is (was) a marker in Elmbank for James Walsh a native of Kilkenny who died in 1872 at 63 years erected by his sons John and Thomas. As well their brother Michael Walsh who died at 33 in 1872 is in this plot. There was another Walsh family living in the Toronto Gore 1861 As follows: Thomas Walsh 41, farmer, wife Bridget 29, children Michael 5, Patrick 3, John 1, Johanna 6. All were RC. ------- Notes show Michael Walsh and Ann Walsh with a date of September 18, 1882 57yrs. seems like a death date. Might be from St. Agatha's in Gagetown. No idea if this is relation or not. He was born on 15 April 1834 at Kilkenny, Ireland. He was the son of Thomas Walsh and Margaret McKay. Peter Walsh married Honora Higgins, daughter of Luke Higgins and Johanna Long, on 26 February 1862; Gore Mission, Peel, Ontario. Peter Walsh died on 28 February 1913 at Ionia, Ionia, Michigan, at age 78. He was buried in March 1913 at Gagetown, Tuscola, Michigan.

Priest was either Richard O'Conner or A.P. Mullin. Ellen is quite possibly the sister of Honora. She was born in 1842 at Galway, Ireland. She was the daughter of Luke Higgins and Johanna Long. Honora Higgins married Peter Walsh, son of Thomas Walsh and Margaret McKay, on 26 February 1862; Gore Mission, Peel, Ontario. Honora Higgins died on 17 February 1905 at Gagetown, Tuscola, Michigan. She was buried circa 21 February 1905 at Gagetown, Tuscola, Michigan.

Pierre Lambert There is a Peter and Lucy Lambert located in Tonawanda, NY about two houses away from Adeline (Hattie) and Joseph Crave in the 1880 census. Peter is 63, Lucy 49. Children are Peter (20), Mary L. (18), and Helena (17). There was also a boarder Frank Hall. Peter Jr. was born in Canada, but the two girls were born in NY. This family may be Adeline's parents and sibs. This probably means they arrived in NY 1861-62. Locating an 1870 census record would be interesting. Lucie was a minor when she married Pierre Lambert. He died. He was born circa 1820. He was the son of Jean-Baptist Lambert and Marie Blanchard. Pierre Lambert married Josephine Lucie Globensky, daughter of Joseph Globensky and Charlotte Carriere, on 14 October 1844; Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Her parents are shown in Ingham County records as Eagan, Mother's name was Katherine and father not listed. The Ingham County record states she was 30 when she died which would make her too young to be James Hurley Jr's mother. Checked St. Joseph's cemetery in Lansing and she wasn't buried there. The cemetery recommended Mt. Hope as an option. She was born in 1832 at New York. She married James Hurley Sr. circa 1848.

Michael Carolan There is a Michael Carolan listed in St. John the Baptist parish in Perth, Ontario as being buried in the parish cemetery. Church records indicate he was moved from Dalhousie to the church cemetery apparently buried with his wife who died in 1853 and was to be interred in the church cemetery. The record states he died six years earlier at age 47. I believe this is the father of George Carolan(b. Glasgow, Scotland circa,1820). He married Elizabeth Regan. Michael Carolan was born circa 1800 at Ireland. He died circa 1847 at Dalhousie, Lanark, Canada.
