Amanda’s Caramel Dessert

Ingredients

1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 can sliced pineapple rings
Whipped cream
Maraschino cherries

Be careful with this one, because if the water in the pan evaporates you end up with exploding caramel. All you need to do with this is to place an unopened can of Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk in a pan of boiling water (enough to cover the can) and simmer it for a minimum of 2 hours. Add water if you need to to keep the can covered. I usually simmer for three hours to be sure. Take the can out of the water and put in in the refrigerator over night. When thoroughly cooled, cut both ends of the can off and push out a beautiful cylinder of caramel. Wet a knife and slice to your sugar tolerance. Place a slice of caramel on a pineapple ring, top with whipped cream and a cherry on top! Very simple and very rich.
